Day 3

Today I tried proper interval training for the first time:

20-minute run with 8 speed intervals (used hydro poles as markers).

This workout had my heart racing and sweat pouring in record time.  Excellent way to get a quick, efficient run in, and a great way to balance the weekly long runs.

Haven't sprinted like that since I was a kid (or maybe since the wild boar chased me in Japan ...).

  1. We can arrange to have a wild boar imported to Vancouver for the half in June!

  3. Wild boar? Really? Isn't it more like when I made you run for the train after we'd been wandering around Cinque Terre for the day?

    Ah... good times...

  4. If by "wandering around Cinque Terre" you mean scaling paths that mountain goats would look askance at, then yes ...

So here's what I need for race day: a wild boar to chase me, and a well-intentioned friend to misinform about what time the train will leave after I cross the finish line.

Maybe I should do it in a wild park with Lions...
